Privacy Policy

QuoteFlash is built for solo trades contractors who need a quote out fast. This page explains exactly what the app does with your data — no legal fog.

What we collect

• Job photos. Sent to our server and to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your quote's line items. Not stored on our servers after the request completes.
• Voice transcript. Your voice note is transcribed on your device (never leaves the phone as audio). The resulting text is sent to Claude to help draft the quote.
• Device identifier. A random, per-device ID (not tied to your name or Apple ID) used only to rate-limit quote generation and stop abuse.
• Business profile. Your business name, trade, and hourly rate, entered during onboarding. Stored only on your device.

Who we share it with

Photos and transcripts pass through our server to Anthropic (the maker of Claude, the AI that drafts your quote). Anthropic processes this data to return the quote and does not use it to train models by default under their API terms. We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising — QuoteFlash has no ad tracking of any kind.

Permissions the app asks for

• Camera — to photograph the job site.
• Microphone — to record your voice note.
• Speech recognition — to transcribe that voice note on-device.
• Photo library — only if you choose to attach an existing photo instead of taking a new one.

You can decline any of these; the app falls back to typed input where needed.

Data retention

Photos and transcripts are used to generate a quote and are not retained by our server afterward. Quote history lives in the app's local storage on your device until you delete it or delete the app.

Your choices

Delete the app to remove all locally stored quotes and profile data. To ask about data we may hold, email us — see contact below.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or share, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
